E-Mail: si@shoulderprosthesis.com

All over the world there are numerous rehabilitation concepts existing. So we can give only some general hints, because the postoperative physiotherapy program has to take a lot of individual factors into consideration ( type of prosthesis, cause of prosthesis implantation -> fracture, omarthrosis; age, bone and especially soft tissue situation, accompaning disease and many other factors ).

In general the operated arm is fixed in a sling imediatelly after the operation. For a period of 2 to 6 weeks a physiotherapy with passive motion is carried out. Active training will start between the fourth and sixth week after the operation. The hospital period will last between a few days up to 2 - 3 weeks depending on the individual situation.
